The Best Audition Ever!

This isn’t really an instructional post teaching you how to have the best audition ever. It described briefly how I had the best audition of my life and how that was even possible. The main point is that the only thing that is certain in your acting career is that it will terminate the day you give up on it. All the amazing experiences that await you will never happen if you don’t give yourself the chance to develop beyond your current potential. Because you can’t see something today does not mean it doesn’t exist in the future. I go through self-doubt constantly and to make matters worse, experiences don’t really embed in me so I can easily forget how painful or pleasurable something is, and that makes my learning curve longer than it might be for you. Regardless, I have considered giving up many times, but every time I have a great experience I realize I wouldn’t have had it if I had quit just minutes before hand…

Hi Louise, glad to hear you are interested in acting. I have lots of advice for you but I think you would have to ask me more specific questions. Why don't you send me an email to hackhollywood at gmail dot com and I'd be happy to help however I can. I'm going to be offering a product in the near future that will offer all kinds of tools and advice for actors as well as one on one communication so if you really get serious about it, that might be something you could try. Anyway, thanks for writing and drop me a line when you can and I will try to help.

    Hi David,

I am 17 years old, currently finishing my last year of school. I want to pursue a career in Acting and performance. I haven't done very many courses, only school based and a few outside. I however do a lot of research and try to see how I can achieve my goal. I live in Australia, however I am in America for a few months as my parents have a house over here. Could you help me with any advice that may be useful for post this final year and where I should head towards?

    Thanks, Louise
