A lot of actors want to move to Los Angeles. Its natural because they think of Los Angeles as the mecca for television and film acting, which it is. But most actors fail to really prepare before they leave. Here’s one of the best questions you can ask yourself before you make any big moves from where you live to Hollywood.

Should I do an agent mailing before I move to Los Angeles?
Definitely submit before you move. You will never have the cache of living outside LA again and there’s nothing like a little ‘difference’ to get you noticed. Agents love ‘difference’ because they can pitch it to casting, so send away and then follow up by phone in a week and just tell them you wanted to make sure the mail service still works (or something cute and funny). Tell them when you are moving and you are setting up some appointments so can you set one up now. Done. DO NOT BE NEEDY…YOU ARE HIRING THEM, NOT THE OPPOSITE.
